How does chiropractic relate to icebergs? Remember the iceberg that sunk the ‘unsinkable’ Titanic? Well it turns out that icebergs can be an excellent analogy to explain your health, there’s what you can see and what you can’t see that could be affecting you.

What you can see of the iceberg is symbolic of symptoms, such as:

  • Back pain
  • Sciatica
  • Hip pain
  • Neck pain
  • Headaches

All of the symptoms usually cause discomfort, pain and the person tends to feel uncomfortable or unwell. As symptoms become either more frequent, or appear to be getting worse or lasting longer, then the person takes more notice. The danger here is symptoms can come and go depending on different stresses, strains and lifestyle choices that are put on the body. In the iceberg analogy, these underlying causes that can contribute to symptoms are what is lying beneath the surface.

Some of these lifestyle stresses include:

  • Stress- physical or emotional
  • Poor posture
  • Overuse injuries

Regular chiropractic care proves to deliver the greatest results. Studies continue to show the people who utilise chiropractic care with ongoing check-ups and adjustments experience better overall health than those who did not.1

Chiropractic care addresses both symptomatic relief and any underlying musculoskeletal concerns, or injuries, there is a better chance of fixing the issue and maintaining a healthier you.
